L’osteosintesi del femore distale e della tibia prossimale nelle fratture articolari del ginocchio
Abstract
KNEE JOINT FRACTURES: DISTAL FEMUR AND PROXIMAL TIBIA OSTEOSYNTHESIS
The management of articular knee fractures is constantly evolving. Soft tissue injury, bone quality, and age influence
the timing and the strategy of fixation. Anatomical reduction, a stable construct, and early mobilization are the main
goals. Conventional or locking compression plates, femoral retrograde nails, subchodral screws have all been used
successfully with satisfactory outcomes. In this article we report on the latest advances in treatment, with a view to
literature and to our experience during a period of 5 years in 97 cases with AO type-B or C distal femur and proximal
tibia fractures.
